We worked with Paul intensely over a period of eight months and couldn’t have asked for a more conscientious or patient counselor. He knew local homeowners and business owners, contractors, and inspectors, and had worked with seemingly everyone in Pownal and Bennington. He even knew the fine details of zoning and utilities in both Vermont and Massachusetts (where we also viewed homes). He was also intimately familiar with home repair and renovation, having done down-to-the-studs renovations on his own homes. Paul’s advice was sober, measured, and serious when needed, but he could also see what we did in the odd options we came up with. He was able to comprehend the kind of place we hoped to find, and consistently proved resourceful with seeing ways to realize our vision. Crucially, while he applied his vast knowledge and imagination to the options at hand, he recognized our hopes, never minimized their importance to us, or pushed us to compromise. As the months went on, and my wife and I began to feel increasing pressure to settle on a home, it sometimes seemed like Paul was the one holding the whole search together. We could not recommend Paul more highly. Throughout our search, Paul remained as gracious, resourceful, and thorough as ever.  All told, Paul Harsch is not only the best realtor we’ve ever dealt with. Paul helped with my preliminary house hunting in April 2023 while waiting for a potential job offer. He is very knowledgeable, down to earth and looks after his customers. I completely trusted him for his expertise around pointing home issues (he says is not an inspector but he is obviously very strong at assessing homes) and putting an offer together. We were house hunting because our home was destroyed by a natural disaster and the insurance did not provide enough money to rebuild the house. We found a dream home in The Berkshires, but unfortunately it was out of our budget. Thankfully we had Paul Harsch on our side to help with the negotiations. He was able to use his expertise and passion to work out a deal with the sellers that allowed us to fulfill our dream of getting the property.
