WILLIAMSTOWN — Realtor Paul A. Harsch III, the founder and president of Harsch Associates of Williamstown, has been appointed to the seven member Vermont Real Estate Commission by Vermont Governor Phillip B. Scott. The appointment was effective Feb. 5. Harsch's appointment is for an initial five-year term with an option to continue for a second five-year term at the governor's discretion.The Vermont Real Estate Commission is a seven-member board created by the state legislature whose members are appointed by the governor to administer the laws for that profession in the state of Vermont.Harsch, whose real estate career spans 44 years, is a licensed real estate broker in Massachusetts, Vermont and New York. He resided in Pownal, Vt. for 40 years through 2006, and at one point maintained offices in Bennington, Vt. and Manchester, Vt.He has served on numerous boards and committees including the Massachusetts Board of Realtor's committee that formalized the inclusion of transaction brokerage facilitation into law in that state. He also introduced the Massachusetts Association of Realtor's Seller's Statement of Property Condition disclosure form, and the Massachusetts Board of Realtors Exclusive Right to Sell Facilitation listing contract.
